Researcher / Educator / Writer / Organizer
Geographer. Ph.D. Candidate.
In Massachusetts. From Mississippi.
Having prayed with Tibetan former political prisoners in the Himalayas, dogsledded with Sami people in Arctic Norway, and buried llama fetuses with Kallawaya witches in the Andes, I have developed a keen interest in the relationship people (and non-people) share with their environment. More specifically, I am interested in the way that cultural and environmental narratives overlap and inform one another. Because of my background in creative writing, I am drawn to stories and narratives. I am personally invested in the project of storytelling and have experienced firsthand – from previous research and work – the transformative capacity of stories.
